[SMM Steel Shipping] China's total exports rose by 4% last week

SMM statistics showed that steel shipments at Chinese ports were 7.2601 million mt last week, up 853,000 mt or 13% WoW.

SMM statistics showed that steel shipments at Chinese ports were 7.2601 million mt last week, up 853,000 mt or 13% WoW. Among them, the combined shipments across six major ports in the north (Jingtang Port, Caofeidian Port, Bayuquan Port, Tianjin Xingang Port, Huanghua Port, Jinzhou Port) were 2.0698 million mt, up 171,500 mt and accounting for 29% of the total shipments. The combined shipments across three major ports in east China (Shanghai Port, Zhangjiagang Port and Lanbei Port) were 693,100 mt, an increase of 158,500 mt and accounting for 10% of the total shipments. The combined shipments across two major ports in south China (Zhanjianggang Port and Fangchenggang Port) were 360,900 mt, a drop of 10,600 mt and accounting for 5% of the total shipments.

Last week (Apr 20-26)
SMM statistics showed that steel arrivals at Chinese ports were 7.5193 million mt last week, up 979,000 mt or 15% WoW. Among them, arrivals across the 13 major ports in east China were 4.759 million mt, up 650,100 mt and accounting for 63% of the total arrivals. Arrivals at Guangzhou Port in south China were 361,500 mt, down 151,200 mt and accounting for 5% of the total arrivals.

Last week (Apr 20-26)
Port shipments outside China were 2.4938 million mt last week, up 13% from a week ago. Shipments by Chinese ports for exports were 2.4218 million mt, an increase of 4% on a weekly basis. Global port shipments of steel plate were 130,100 mt last week, a drop of 50% week-on-week. Global port shipments of steel coil were 342,300 mt last week, a drop of 23% week-on-week. Global port shipments of pig iron were 1.0679 million mt last week, up 81% week-on-week. Global port shipments of steel billets were 540,900 mt last week, up 16% week-on-week.
2. Arrival data
Last week (Apr 20-26)
The total amount of steel arriving at China's 119 ports was 365,100 mt, a decrease of 256,800 mt or 41% from a week earlier.
